Everything except multi-device sync is free

Every feature below is identical across macOS, iOS, Android, and Windows — the only platform difference is AutoFill, which relies on an OS-level integration Windows doesn't have yet.

Why so cheap? You only pay for the encrypted and highly secure relay messages that keep your vault synchronized across your devices. No vault on cloud = no permanent cloud storage to pay. Everything is on your devices. And if you stop paying, all your data remains on your devices.

What the subscription is

A yearly subscription ($2.99/y — the reference price; the amount actually charged may vary slightly in your local currency depending on each store’s exchange rate and rounding) that unlocks multi-device synchronization: creating a new sync group, and inviting further devices into one you already created. It does not gate joining a group someone else created — that’s free on every platform, always.

One subscription, purchased on any one platform, covers every device in that sync group — you don’t pay again per device or per platform. Add a Windows PC, an Android phone, and a Mac to the same group with a single subscription bought wherever was most convenient. The only difference between platforms is how you pay for it, not what it unlocks:

• macOS / iOS: Apple’s In-App Purchase, billed to your Apple ID, managed the normal way through your App Store subscription settings. Because macOS and iOS share one Apple ID entitlement, either device can create a group or invite further devices.
• Android: Google Play Billing, billed the same way through your Google account.
• Windows: Apple and Google both run their own in-app purchase system that Windows apps have no equivalent access to, so Windows billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy, a third-party payment processor (a “merchant of record,” meaning they handle card processing, taxes, and invoicing on our behalf). Clicking “Subscribe” in the app’s paywall opens a Lemon Squeezy checkout page in your browser; after payment, it hands you a license key that activates the subscription back in the app — either automatically, or by pasting the key in if the automatic handoff doesn’t fire. Restoring a purchase

If you reinstall the app or set up a new Apple or Android device, the subscription page includes a “Restore purchase” option that re-checks your existing subscription with the store — no separate account or login is needed, since entitlement is tied to your Apple ID / Google account directly, not to a MyPwdTool account (there is no such thing as a MyPwdTool account).

On Windows, since there’s no OS-level account to check against, entitlement is tied to your Lemon Squeezy license key instead — reinstalling or moving to a new Windows PC means pasting that same key back into the paywall screen to reactivate it. Lemon Squeezy also emails you a receipt/order confirmation with that key at time of purchase, so keep that email if you might need to reinstall later.

Why it’s structured this way

The subscription exists to cover the ongoing cost of running the relay server — it is deliberately priced low, and deliberately does not gate anything except the specific feature that has an ongoing hosting cost attached to it. Every other feature stays free, permanently, on every platform.
