The Team

Behind MyPwdTool is a small team with a clear mission.

We’re a small team by choice. We stay focused, independent, and committed to delivering a password manager that puts users first.

ThibaultThibault, founder, architect, and developer, is responsible for the entire technical side of the product. While that may sound ambitious, he brings more than three decades of experience in software development, cybersecurity, distributed systems, and privacy-preserving technologies. His expertise in zero-knowledge architectures directly shapes the way MyPwdTool protects your data. (And yes, he wears a tie, because his job is consultant)

AmandineAmandine leads marketing, communications, and media relations. From the product’s public image to social media and press outreach, she ensures that MyPwdTool’s message is communicated clearly and professionally.

Supported by modern AI tools and powered by the infrastructure services of Clever Cloud, the team ensures that MyPwdTool remains secure, reliable, easy to use, clearly explained and presented, without - never - compromising privacy.

The Story

The story of MyPwdTool is, as its name suggests, a personal side-project first and foremost.

As long-time users of other password managers, we found ourselves asking a simple question in early 2026: couldn’t it be simpler, and less expensive?

The original idea was straightforward: a lightweight tool that securely stores, encrypts, and decrypts passwords on demand. Nothing more, nothing less. A personal password utility. Quite literally, “My Password Tool”.

Then came a new requirement: synchronizing data across multiple devices. It was at that point that the relay-based architecture emerged as a fundamental advantage. Instead of relying on user accounts, centralized vaults, or servers that can access sensitive information, MyPwdTool was designed around a different principle: enabling synchronization while remaining completely blind to user data.

From that moment, the roadmap became clear: build a robust, secure, cross-platform password manager capable of seamless synchronization without requiring accounts, personal information, or knowledge of what’s being synchronized. A truly privacy-first approach that remains rare in the password manager market.

What started as a simple idea gradually evolved into an ambitious project: creating the password manager we wanted to use ourselves, and one that simply didn’t exist on the market.

Today, MyPwdTool remains guided by the same vision: strong security, genuine privacy, transparent design, and technology that works for users, not the other way around.

What’s next?

What comes next? There is still plenty of work ahead.

First, we will need to formalize the legal structure behind the project. As the number of paying users grows, a dedicated company will be established, and this section will eventually tell that story.

We will also need to grow the development team. As with any successful software product, the workload associated with new features, improvements, and long-term maintenance continues to increase over time.

Fortunately, MyPwdTool has been designed from day one to support that growth. The entire codebase is centrally managed in a private GitHub repository, and the same applies to this website. Documentation, source code, and development processes are structured to make collaboration straightforward. In practical terms, the risk of the product disappearing because a single person steps away is extremely low.

Beyond MyPwdTool itself, we believe there are many everyday tools on our laptops and smartphones that deserve to be reimagined with the same principles that guide this project: security, privacy, transparency, and user control.

MyPwdTool is only the beginning.

We have many ideas, plenty of ambition, and a long roadmap ahead.

Stay tuned. This won’t be the last thing you hear from our team.
